Corrective makeup: eyes and nose
It is not at all necessary to correct the shape of the nose and eyes: sometimes the chiaroscuro technique allows you to achieve the desired result. Still, in some cases, you have to resort to corrective makeup. Let's look together at ways to solve certain problems.
Eyes
Eye corners up
With a dark pencil, draw a wide line along the edge of the upper eyelid: start from the middle of the edge of the eyelid and lead to the outer corner of the eye, making the line wider as it goes down. Blend the contour and apply shadows of ivory or beige.
Eye corners down
Circle the contour of the upper eyelid with a dark pencil. Start with a thin line at the inner corner of the eye and draw a line, gradually making it wider and lifting up to the outer corner of the eye. Blend with a brush. Apply light shadow, ivory or beige, following the pencil line to where it begins to rise. Curl your lashes and apply mascara, especially at the outer corner of your eye.
Close-set eyes
Apply a light corrector to the inner corner of the eye, blending towards the nose. Draw a line with a pencil along the edge of the upper eyelid, from its middle to the upper corner of the eye. Blend thoroughly with a brush. Apply light shadows on the inside of the eyelid, and dark shadows on the outside. Apply a generous amount of mascara to your upper lashes, especially the outer corner of your eye. Correction of the shape of the eyebrows also helps to achieve the desired result: remove the hairs at the bridge of the nose and make the eyebrow thinner starting from the place of its bend.
Far away eyes
Circle the contour of the upper eyelid with a dark pencil, and start the line a millimeter closer to the bridge of the nose; draw a line to the outer corner of the eye. Apply dark shadow to the inner corner of the eye and blend towards the bridge of the nose. Apply light shadows on the outer part of the eyelid. Correct the shape of the eyebrows by painting. a few "hairs" at the bridge of the nose. Apply mascara only to the top lashes.
Deep set eyes
Apply light corrector all over the eyelid and set with powder. Outline the upper eyelid with a thin pencil line. Apply light shadows to the entire eyelid, for example, beige, ivory, terracotta, taupe. Apply mascara to the top lashes only.
Eyes protruding
Circle the contour of the upper eyelid with a dark pencil, giving it an elongated shape, and blend with a brush. Apply dark shadows on the eyelids: black, brown, blue, anthracite gray. The final touch to help hide this flaw is a pencil outline along the edge of the lower eyelid.
Nose
Short
Apply a light corrector to the central part of the nose and blend it with a sponge from the eyebrows to the tip of the nose, and then powder. With a brush, apply corrective shadows (pale brown) on the wings of the nose, rising as high as possible to the bridge of the nose: in this way, the sides of the nose will appear higher and the nose itself will be longer. Apply translucent powder on top.
Long
Apply a light corrector all over the nose and set it with powder, then "darken" the area between the eyebrows and the tip of the nose with hazel or pale beige shadows. Dust with translucent powder.
Snub nose
Apply a light corrector to the bridge of your nose and blend lightly. Dust with translucent powder and apply pale beige shadows on the wings of the nose.
Thin
Apply a light corrector to the area around the bridge of the nose. Dust with translucent powder.
Additional tip:
If you prefer to use less makeup, use pencils instead of correctors and shadows. You will need a light pencil, ivory or light beige and a dark one, such as pale beige. Pencils should be of medium hardness. To correct the shape of the eyes, you can use a regular black eyeliner.
